The Lucky Cat Cage is made from a single sheet of lightweight 5052 alloy. The Lucky Cat bottle cage was designed in collaboration with first-generation Asian American artist Jake Tong, whose work is heavily influenced by Chinese, Korean, and Japanese pop culture. The design is inspired by the maneki-neko "beckoning cat," a figure that originated in Japan and is said to bring good luck. The "Lucky Cat" name comes from China, where the maneki-neko is referred to as "zhaocaimao" ("lucky cat" or "wealth-bringing cat.")
